Johnson Controls Arabia empowers youth and fosters social sustainability by joining forces with Tarmeem

 


Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, October 03, 2023: Johnson Controls Arabia, a leading provider of integrated solutions that include HVAC equipment, fire and security systems, building management systems and controls in the MENA region, signed cooperation agreement with Tarmeem Charity Association to bolster social responsibility initiatives and projects by delivering a series of training sessions, workshops, and expert consultations. Fostering collaboration between the private and third sectors, Johnson Controls Arabia further supports Tarmeem’s commitment to assisting underprivileged families and nurturing the capabilities and skills of aspiring youth.


Dr. Mohanad Al-Shaikh, Chief Executive Officer of Johnson Controls Arabia, said: “Community development and the growth of the non-profit sector stand out as national priorities within the comprehensive framework of the National Transformation Program, a cornerstone initiative under the Vision 2030 agenda representing approximately 35% of its objectives.”


“Our collaboration with Tarmeem underscores our unwavering commitment towards actively supporting the third sector, a vital economic entity, as we strive to empower both the younger generation and the community at large, fostering their ability to attain sustainable development goals and alleviate the burden of government social assistance expenditures,” Al-Shaikh added.


As part of the agreement, Johnson Controls Arabia will offer an array of training sessions for the beneficiaries of Tarmeem. These sessions will cover highly valuable topics related to HVAC and electricity, personal resume development, teamwork, communication skills, and time management skills.  The company will also offer marketing consultations and support the association’s corporate social responsibility programs and community development projects.


The agreement was signed during Johnsons Controls Arabia’s participation at Cityscape Global in Riyadh by Khaled Almushare, Chief Marketing, Innovation & Information Officer at Johnson Controls Arabia, and Dr. Abdullah Ali Aldurbah, CEO of Tarmeem Development Association.


During Cityscape, Dr. Al Shaikh took part in a panel discussion titled “Sustainable Development: Building a Greener Future for All”, wherein he highlighted Johnson Controls Arabia’s contributions to the development of the local economy as a leading HVAC and building management solutions provider. He also presented the company’s innovative products and solutions that aim to improve the quality of life as well as develop smarter and more sustainable cities worldwide.


Johnson Controls Arabia also showcased the OpenBlue platform featuring a suite of tailored, AI-powered solutions such as remote diagnostics, predictive maintenance, compliance monitoring, advanced risk assessments, and more.  This platform delivers impactful sustainability and energy efficiency to existing and new buildings to help achieve the ambitious goals of the year 2060 regarding Net-zero emissions. The company also introduced the Saudi-made Steller VRF smart air conditioning units which save energy and space through reducing electricity consumption by 50% and lowering the number of needed external units.
