YORK® YHAU-CG/CA Double-effect, Direct-fired Chillers feature an innovative two-step evaporator design with dual pressure levels, splitting the absorption process. Chilled water circulates through tubes in both evaporators, while a concentrated lithium bromide solution is distilled in the absorber shell, moving in the opposite direction. This reduces solution concentration and overall pressure, enhancing efficiency and reliability compared to standard absorption chillers.
The parallel flow cycle splits the solution flow into two balanced paths, distributing it between the low-temperature and high-temperature generators. By combining our two-step and parallel flow design, the unit attains safer and more efficient operation at significantly reduced pressure compared to traditional series-flow designs. This innovative approach results in lower LiBr concentration, enabling the use of a less intensive driving heat source, ultimately delivering a high coefficient of performance (COP).
